Now, since this ball mount has no drop or rise, if your vehicle's hitch height matches your trailer's ride height, no this would be an appropriate ball mount for you. With the ball mount In this position, the 2 and 5/16th inch ball is on the top. We can flip it to the left to match the 1 and 7/8ths inch ball or to the right to access the 2 inch ball. more

We can then pull the pin to raise the ball mount platform to its highest position while also in the drop. more

Now we'll go ahead and measure from the top of the ball mount platform to the ground with this ball mount. That measurement is 18 and a half inches. more

Today on our 2012 GMC Sierra well be test fitting the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount for 2-inch hitches part number AMSC4. Now before we begin our test fit we will first need to obtain the hitch height for our vehicle. This is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube and ours is about 18 inches. Now to begin our test fit in the draw position well insert the shank of the ball mount into the hitch, line up our hitch pin hole and put our pin through the hitch pin hole and secure it with a clip. Well then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and get a measurement of 14 inches. Now for your trailer ride height which is the measurement from the ground to the bottom of the coupler while your trailer is level matches ours this will be an appropriate ball mount for you. more
